Coyhaique is a small town, young, with places and interesting people to meet. This tour will begin with a visit to a painter’s atelier in the area; in his paintings are landscapes, human figures and other elements of nature in the area. We continue the visit to the reply of a Chilote church, Jesus of Nazarene of Cahuach, and we will be able to enter and to know its interiors. We continue with a unique visit to a honey workshop, we will get to know a family business, which cultivate herbs, breed bees and into the combination of both, we’ll discover a sweet and healthy product! Then we’ll visit the Plaza Pioneros with its various carts belonging to the period of colonization of the region, we also find the Monumento al Ovejero, shows the typical worker of the area.
After this visit, we will visit the Plaza de Armas, the main centre of the city of Coyhaique, highlights his pentagonal design, unique in Chile, which converge 10 streets. At the front we find the craft fair, shows part of the work of the artisans in the area, it is possible to discover pieces crafted in wood, stone, fabrics in raw sheep’s wool, leather of sheep in several expressions. Then we go out of the city to have another sight of it, at the Mirador Rio Simpson and from there having an excellent sight of the river of the same name. From the bridge on this river we’re going to appreciate the Piedra del Indio, a rocky formation with form of a human profile. Here we’re going to have time to take some photos and then head back to the hotel.
